Leading By Learning: Curriculum Planning Work Session

If you have been following our blog these last few weeks and been with us on Twitter, you know that we have been continuing with our Leading by Learning Series co-facilitated by Traci Browder and Dawn Harris. We have been on a journey to better prepare ourselves for the opening of school and doing our work in a way that promotes greater equity in our classrooms and schools.  We’ve had a chance to share our own emotions and build our awareness of the issue of systemic racism in our schools. We have developed strategies to deal with setbacks and built stamina to help us avoid burnout. We have also worked to build our own Grit Crews to help us do this work.

Last week, Dawn and Traci introduced us to the concept of creating intentionally diverse villages to help us do this work with our students. To view the topics covered last week and the myriad of beautiful responses from Saturday’s chat Click HERE. You can also view all of the resources shared in last week’s chat HERE.

We are really excited about what’s next! It’s now time for us to take our work together to the next level. It’s time to put our new learning into action and begin designing curriculum and lessons that show our commitment to antiracism work in our schools. Yes… we are going to do this work in a Twitter chat!

This week’s chat will be unique! It will be an experiment, but with your help, we think it will be awesome. We invite you to watch the video below to see how we are transforming this week’s chat and to get information about what we hope you will bring with you to Saturday’s conversation!

To further help you prepare for Saturday, we are including the topic cards below so you can preview them prior to Saturday.  Once again… Traci and Dawn have invested an incredible amount of time into making this work meaningful for all of us.  Their commitment to helping us all be better for our kids is infectious and so very much appreciated.

We look forward to seeing all of you who can join us on Saturday. Thank you for showing up week after week and for all you are doing to Learn. Grow. Act.
